Lights, Camera, Action!
In Sunday School this week, we continued to work on our movie project! Mr. Veeser is helping the kids produce a video, retelling the parable of The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) in a modern setting. It is so much fun to see the kids using their creativity and humor. But best of all, we can see the kids gaining a deeper understanding of the parable and what it means to love our neighbors.
Twelve (12) children attended Sunday School on Sept. 25, 2016: five in the Sonbeams, and seven in the GLOW class. Please pray for these young members of our church family.
This week, the Sonbeams heard the stories of Noah and Abraham, and made a booklet about how plants grow.
This week’s GLOW lesson fit well with Pastor Langager’s current series, “Six Rules for Life.” The theme for the day’s lesson was kindness. What does it mean to be kind? How can we show kindness to others? We read 2 Samuel 9, the story of King David’s kindness to Mephibosheth, after the death of Mephibosheth’s grandfather and father, Saul and Jonathan.
The GLOW kids were challenged to perform an act of kindness at school or anywhere in their daily life this week.
Moms and Dads, please encourage your children to do this challenge! And consider taking the challenge yourself. What could God’s kindness do in our community?
