Mission and Purpose
We have been called by Jesus Christ to be His people (1 Peter
2:9-10)
Our mission as the United Evangelical Church is to know Christ
and to make Him known -
through Worship...
in which we offer ourselves individually
and corporately to God in a meaningful, orderly, and beautiful
expression
(Philippians 4:8)
through Fellowship...
in which we love one another as Jesus
has loved us, by caring for one another and working together as
the body of Jesus Christ.
(John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 12:12,27;1 Peter 4:9)
through Discipleship....
in which we gain strength and grow
in our commitment to Christ, so that we are prepared for service
to God, each other, and the world.
(Ephesians 4:11-13)
through Service....
in which , as instruments of the love of
Christ, we care for others locally and worldwide
(Matthew 25:40;
Acts 10:38)
through Outreach....
in which, by word and deed, we seek to
win others to Jesus Christ through the Good News of the Gospel
(Matthew 5:14; cf. John 8:12)
Jesus said: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As
I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all
men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another"
(John 13:34:35)
When Jesus spoke to again to the people, he said, "I am the light
of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but
will have the light of life." (cf. John 8:12)
