Is it just me, or is this year flying by? Here we are, already into the second week of Advent; the Christmas season is in full swing. An update on Sunday School activities for early December:
The Christmas Program will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 10:00 a.m. The kids have a special presentation of music and readings prepared for the congregation, and we will even be treated to a performance by the church choir. We are so looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior with our friends and family! Please invite your friends and extended family to stay after the program for a reception of cookies and punch in the Fellowship Hall.
Final Program Practice
With the program coming up so quickly, we’ve only got one practice left. Our final rehearsal will be Wednesday, Dec. 7 (tomorrow), at 6:30 p.m. Practice will be held in the sanctuary, and will wrap up at 7:30 p.m. Please consider joining us downstairs before practice, for Dinner is Served (5:30 – 6:30). Dinner is always delicious and everyone is welcome to eat, at no cost.
Parents, we’ve asked you to bring your children to many program practices and other events this fall. Thank you for doing your best to get your kids there when you could. We know that busyness can get out of hand in December and we don’t want church activities to be a source of stress for our families.
The Heart of the Matter
We came across this free Advent resource and wanted to share it with you. It has a lot of material – everything from short daily Scripture readings to activities and devotions. It even incorporates Christmas songs from SEEDS Family Worship. If you are looking for Advent activities to share with your kiddos, this could be a good option!
Have a wonderful Christmas season! We are so thankful for the great families of the Covenant Church’s Sunday School program.
